Plain-language explanation of what we collect and why. Last updated 9 June 2026.
This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is collected and processed in connection with AudioMasterizer and the website audiomasterizer.com. We aim to collect as little personal data as reasonably necessary to sell, deliver, activate and support the software.
The data controller for purposes of this policy is:

AudioMasterizer is a project created by Art of Dev (artofdev.space).
This policy covers personal data processed through this website, the purchase and delivery process, license activation and verification, and customer support. It does not cover third-party websites or services that have their own privacy policies, such as Paddle.
When you buy a license, the purchase is processed by Paddle. Paddle transmits to us the information needed to deliver and account for your order, which may include your name, email, country and order/billing details. We do not receive your full payment card number.
To activate and verify your license, the app may send your license key (which may be stored on our side in hashed form), an activation/device identifier, the platform (macOS) and the app version. This is used to enable the software, manage activations and prevent abuse. No audio file names, project content or audio data are required for activation.
We keep limited technical logs (such as timestamps, license/activation events, app version, and a truncated or hashed IP address) for security, support, anti-fraud, activation and diagnostics. We do not use these logs to profile you or to access your audio content.
When you contact support, we process your email address and the content of your message to respond and to keep a reasonable record of the request (for example, refund or activation issues).
Payments are processed by Paddle, acting as reseller / merchant of record and/or payment provider. Paddle collects and processes your payment data under its own privacy policy and terms. AudioMasterizer does not store your payment card details. We receive only the order and billing information necessary to deliver your license and meet our accounting obligations.
This website aims to use only what is necessary to function and to complete a secure checkout. Paddle and other payment/security components may set cookies or use similar technologies as part of the checkout and fraud-prevention process. [If analytics tools are added in the future, this section should be updated accordingly.]
Where data protection law (such as the Swiss FADP or the EU/UK GDPR) requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of a contract (delivering and supporting your license); our legitimate interests (security, anti-fraud, improving and operating the product); compliance with legal obligations (accounting/tax); and, where required, your consent (which you may withdraw at any time).
We share personal data only as necessary with service providers acting on our behalf or as independent providers, including: Paddle (payments, tax, invoicing), our email/delivery provider (license and transactional emails), and hosting/infrastructure providers. We do not sell your personal data.
Some providers may process data outside Switzerland or the EEA. Where this happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under Swiss and/or EU data protection law (such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses), to the extent applicable.
We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described, or as required by law. License and order records, and limited activation/security logs, are retained for the periods needed for support, anti-abuse and to satisfy accounting and tax obligations, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, such as HTTPS, restricted access, and hashing of sensitive identifiers (for example, license keys). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or request restriction of certain processing. To exercise these rights, email contact@artofdev.space. We may keep records we are legally required to retain (such as invoices).
If you are in Switzerland, your data is processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). You have the right to information about, and access to, your personal data, and you may lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, the GDPR / UK GDPR may apply. In addition to the rights above, you may have the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where Paddle acts as merchant of record, Paddle may also be a controller for certain payment data under its own policy.
AudioMasterizer is intended for adults and professional or hobbyist use. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us so we can delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version, with its “last updated” date, is published on this page. Material changes will be reflected here.
